Rhythm is the constant repetition of silence and sounds.
- What do you like about the way she presented the information? Why?
- I liked how she explained it step by step. It was extremely easy to understand. I also liked how she gave an example and she explained it in two different ways. She was also very energetic and showed her enthusiasm about the material.
- What do you dislike about the way she presented information? Why?
- Although the information was presented in a understandable way it was kinda dull. If she would have got them to create their own rhythm it would have involved them more. If children apply the information themselves they tend to retain the information.
- Is this an example of good teaching? Why do you think so?
- I do think that it is an example of good teaching. She could have made it a little more involved, but she did convey the material in a way that children could grasp it.
- How many different ways did she present the information? Why do you think this is important?
- She defined rhythm,
- She revised the definition so that they would better understand it
- She showed it visually
- She preformed the action
- These are all important because she used different varieties of instruction. Students learn in different ways and its imperative that you reach all of them.
I agree that the information was very easy to understand for the students. I too thought the presentation was dull and I felt like she was mono-toned throughout the presentation. It seemed like she had to force her smile and excitement about the subject. I have read a few other blog and it seems like Im the only one who saw it. I just dont feel a teacher should force a smile and excitement about a subject. Students sense these things.
ReplyDeleteIt was easy to understand because she went step by step and kept the definition simple. She also broke the definition into two parts but now that I think of it the second half of the definition was lost and rushed. Perhaps she should have reviewed sound and silence before moving, and introduce pattern before giving an example. I agree that she showed enthusiasm for the material.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the lesson was very easy to understand which is good since it was directed toward children. I also think that it was a bit boring but I think she was very animated throughout her presentation so that a positive and a negative. I don't think a kid could keep their attention for very long by the way she gave it. I do think that by explaining it step by step made it easier though.
